Pirate Birthday Cake

pirate birthday cake

A pirate birthday cake is made easy by making cupakes. If you are like me, you want to make something that's fun, colorful and EASY.

Use your favorite cake mix and buy store bought frosting.

Cupcake Stand

pirate birthday cake Pirate decorated cupcakes displayed in a cupcake stand can be used as pirate decorations.

Place the stand in the middle of the food table for all the kids to see.

For these cupcakes I placed a toothpick between two foam pirate stickers.

I bought pirate cupcake cake liners, but as you can see the design does not show through once the cupcakes are baked - especially if you make chocolate cupcakes.

Just stick to the less expensive liners found in the grocery store.
pirate party cake I bought the bucket of pirate foam stickeres as we used them for party favors and pirate decorations on the table.

Here is another picture of a decorated cupcake with a pirate ship foam sticker.

Be sure to sprinkle some colored sugar on the frosting for some added color.

Pirate Decorated Cupcakes

pirate party cake Place pirate figurines on top of the cupcakes. The kids love them as party favors as well.

Sprinkle some colored sugar on the top of the frosting for an added touch.

I used to make my own frosting, but found that the store bought frosting actually looked nicer and held up better in the heat outside.

Pillsbury Whipped Supreme Vanilla frosting is our favorite frosting.

Embellish your fun cupcakes with these little black pirate swords.

I bought the little swords from Oriental Trading and used them as appetizer picks in chunks of watermelon as well.

Pirate Party Cake Topper

Pirate Adventure Cake Topper

If you would rather have a real pirate birthday cake but want someone else to do the decorating, get this pirate cake topper

It is made of plastic and cardboard and includes a 4" telescope, a pirate map puzzle (4" high x 5.5" wide) and 2 pirate hat rings.

Celebrate Express has some of the best prices for buying party goods on line.

Pirate Ship Cake

How about a cake that's shaped like a pirate ship? Make your cake in a pirate ship cake pan

One cake mix makes your pirate ship cake.

You are on your own for decorating it with different colors of frosting.
