Swimming Pool Floating Candles

Swimming pool floating candles can add a wonderful ambiance to your evening pool parties. Because it is a large pool of water be sure to select large floating candles, at least 3" in diameter and plenty of them - otherwise if you just have a few- like 3 - you won't get the effect that you desire.

If you like to save money, buy a lot of 24 large floating candles that say "wedding favors."

Also turn off your pump so that the candles don't all bunch together.

That said there are some fun candles to add to your theme.

Floating Candles for Pools

Floating candles for pools add the perfect touch to keep the party going after the sun has set. You can find floating lady bug candles to floating scented pool candles.

I might suggest you keep some on hand or plan ahead by ordering on line if you are having a party. We were having friends over for a pool party in mid-July. I ran to 5 stores to try and find some large floating candles - and none of them had any. I was told they carried the swimming pool floating candles early in the season, but as soon as they run out, they don't reorder.

Floating Flip Flop Candle

Floating candles for pools can be fun ones like these flip flop candles or you can use plain white large ones for a more sophisticated or romantic setting.

If you like the idea of a Flip Flop theme for your swimming pool party you can find flip flop outdoor string lighting, flip flop candles and flip flop torch candles at Flip Flop Party

Electronic Floating Candles

Electronic floating candles add a warm glow and charm to evenings by the pool.

An inexpensive way to light up your pool is by using battery operated flameless candles. I am finding them more and more at stores like Michaels, TJ Max, or Marshalls or Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I bought 12 clear plastic bowls and then in each bowl I put in an electric tea light or a larger battery operated flameless candle and a few decorative clear stones to keep it weighted and set them out in the pool.

They give off a very warm and pretty light. It is less expensive than buying 12 pool candles. You don't need to worry about the flame going out if a breeze comes up. Of course they are not water proof, so if they get in the pool the candles won't work anymore.

For easy lighting don't forget a lighter. Just light your candles as dusk is setting in and set them in the pool at both ends. Be sure to turn off your pump so they don't bunch together.
