Umbrella Solar LightsUmbrella solar lights don't require any batteries or electric cords. They come on automatically when the sun goes down. Solar umbrella lights can be purchased already installed if you are looking for a new pool umbrella. Some of them only offer a total of 16 lights (2 per rib) which really isn't enough light. There are some solar umbrellas that offer 24 lights or 3 per rib and even some of those the review state that they wish the light was brighter. Solar batteries are located on top of the umbrella and charge during the day to provide usually 6-8 hours of night time light.
Solar Umbrella LightI purchased a solar umbrella light set from Big Lots the beginning of the summer.It does light up every evening and provides a nice ambient lighting, but still does not provide enough light to be serving dinner or to play cards. Think about adding an
outdoor umbrella candle
or
battery powered umbrella lights
to get the additional light that is needed to enjoy an evening out by the pool.
